Review of publications on health effects of genetically modified foods published in PubMed data in the last 10 yearsKeywords: geneti?i de?i?tirilmi? g?da,sa?l?k,sa?l?k etkisi Abstract: Aim: Genetically modified foods are one of the type of modern biotechnology applied to food production. The increasing use of these foods has brought them into greater prominence. in terms of public health. In this study it is aimed to examine the relevant studies and publications in the literature. Material and Methods: The study examined publications on the health effects of genetically modified foods published in the PubMed database between 2008-2017. 85 articles were reached by key words in the study and 49 of them incorporated with some criteria. Findings: 49 articles were examined in the study. 2 of them were observational (4.1%), 43 were experimental research (87.8%), 3 were review articles (6.1%) and 1 was case report (2.0%) and publications were from 16 different countries. Four study were on humans. It has been determined that among the health effects of genetically modified foods relevant publications most commonly focused on metabolic effects of them. Conclusion: Despite the limitations of this study, it is shown that the publications made in this subject cover animal experiments in large scale. It would be useful to approach the issue within the framework of the precautionary principle
