Competencies of Teaching Profession in Turkey

Learning and teaching are essential parts of life. People constantly learn and improve themselves as time goes by. When it comes to teaching, parents and teachers generally get involved. Teaching profession is very precious occupation. It is esteemed all over the world. The prevalent definition of this profession is to guide individuals on their learning journay. As an indispansible part of this profession, teachers need to have some competencies. The aim of this research is to investigate TEDP project,which is to support teacher competence development,published in our country in 2006 , “General Competencies of Teaching Profession” and Strategies of Teaching Profession”published in 2017 in terms of teacher competence. It was a qualitative research and hand documents canning model were carried out. In this research, 3 different programs mentioned above are examined from the viewpoint of teacher competence
