A Different Perspective on Sustainable Development Approach: The Movement of Cittáslow “Slow City” and Sustainable Development

Economics is concerned how unlimited human needs are provided with the limited resources. Here, the limitation of the source is a remarkable detail. In this context, production and consumption patterns have changed tremendously, especially with the rapid change in the world economies starting from the Industrial Revolution. The modern world economy has evolved into a capitalist consumer society. Further production was needed to meet the ever-increasing demands of Homoeconomicus. This situation revealed that the problem of over-exploitation of resources without considering the future of generations and our world. Ideas have been started to be produced by the environment that will realize how sustainable economic development will be achieved by the circles who realize that the life of our world will be shortened and there will be no world to live in to future generations. In this context, various “green economic policies” were put forward and environmental economic policies were supported. In this study, it will be examined research the contribution of Cittáslow concept that try to provide economic development with the aid of natural and local value and to aim the green development to sustainable development
