HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS' VIEWS ON GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMSKeywords: Geneti?i de?i?tirilmi? organizmalar,gen teknolojisi,lise ??rencileri Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine the views of high school students on genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This study, which is one of the qualitative research methods, is conducted with a total of 40 students in the twelfth grade of a private high school in the Central Anatolia region. Five open-ended questions were asked to get students' views on GMOs. Student opinions were examined by content analysis and themes and codes were formed from the data obtained. The students' views on GMOs are grouped under five themes: health, economy, industry, environment and ethics. As a result of the research, they stated positive and negative opinions about the results of the use of GMOs. These positive opinions include in health benefit, treatment of diseases, increasing the yield of vegetable and animal products, increasing nutritional quality, rapid product acquisition, increasing shelf life, growing resistant species, increasing biological diversity, being cheap, being profitable, scientific developments “ has been found.
