Analysis of spatial distribution and determinants of machine-equipment and irrigation support for providing rural development according to provinces

Rural areas are more disadvantaged in terms of social and economic sense than cities and are places where poverty concentrates. The basic economic activities of the individuals living in this area are agriculture and related sectors. For this reason, agriculture-related practices are given greater priority for development. The subject of this study in this context constitutes the spatial distribution and determinants of the machine-equipment and irrigation support made within the Rural Development Investment Support Program. For this reason, according to the provinces, machine-equipment support and irrigation support data have been obtained. Support quantities per decare were calculated taking into account the total agricultural area and the values obtained were converted into thematic maps. The spatial clustering characteristics of these supports determined by using Hot Spot Analysis. In this way spatial distribution profile of agricultural subsidies have been created to support rural development in Turkey
