THE OPINIONS of THE STUDENTS WHO STUDYING at THE DEPARTMENT of TURKISH LANGUAGE and LITERATURE about OTTOMAN POETRY LESSONSKeywords: Türk Dili ve Edebiyat?,Klasik Türk Edebiyat? Abstract: In this study, it is aimed to reveal the views of the students who have been studying at the departments of Turkish Language and Literature about Ottoman poetry courses. Phenomenological pattern, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the study. The data were collected from 184 students (female= 123, male= 61, , aged between 19 and 26) studying in different classrooms at Tokat Gaziosmanpa?a University, Faculty of Science and Arts, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. The participants, who were selected convenience sampling technique, voluntarily supported the research. The data were collected by a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher. The participants were asked questions about Ottoman Poetry. The participants’ answers were analysed with content analysis technique. At the end of the research, it was found that students generally liked subjects in Ottoman poetry courses and 72.4% of their feelings in these courses were positive. In addition, it was concluded that reducing the course hours due to Bologna process had negative effects on these courses. The other results obtained in the study are as follows: Students have difficulty in aruz, literary arts and text commentary. As the class level increases, the level of anxiety about the lessons of Ottoman poetry decreases
