Determination of the Local People’s Views Regarding Sustainable Tourism: Sille Example

Although it has been devastated by the destruction of mankind in the course of time; the interest of local and foreign tourists is gradually increasing in Sille, which has hosted many civilizations for centuries, which is attracting attention regarding tourism increasingly and which is becoming a center of attraction in Konya with its natural beauties and historical texture. The aim of this thesis study is to determine the approaches of local people to sustainable tourism who are important in transfering existing cultural heritage to future generations by reducing the adverse affects of tourism activities in Sille and ensuring the sustainability of tourism in the region. It also aims at revealing the relationship of local people’s views on sustainable tourism with some demographic variables. The data obtained in the research were collected by carrying out the questionnaire method to 218 people in Sille between 28.06.2017 and 13.07.2017. The “Demographic Information Form” developed by the researcher and the previously developed “Sustainable Tourism Scale” were used to collect data in the study. Data collection tools were conducted together by being transformed in one form. For the statistical analysis of the data obtained in the study, 24.0 version of “SPSS” package program was utilized
