Visits of Mustafa Kemal Pasha to Erzincan

Founder of Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal launched the National Struggle in Anatolia starting with the concept of national state. Mustafa Kemal, who stated in every occasion that he took his power and determination from the common sense of the Turkish Nation, turned to nationwide tours not only in the years of National Struggle but also after the declaration of the Republic. Mustafa Kemal continued his nationwide tours and went even to the remote villages along with cities and districts with the victory of National struggle and founding of Turkish Republic. The nationwide tours of Mustafa Kemal should not be seen as ordinary sightseeing. These tours had an important role in the modernization and establishment of Turkish Republic. With these tours, Mustafa Kemal had a chance of learning the nation love of Turkish public closely, listened the problems of the people and got their approval by learning whether they want the forthcoming reform or not, and he also tried creating the roots of Turkish Republic. In this study, which was made by using archival documents, periodicals, memories and research works, the importance of Mustafa Kemal Pasha's visit to Erzincan after the declaration of the Republic or the National Struggle period was emphasized
