Current Occupational Accidents and the Relationship Between the Employee Awareness and the Education Levels

In this study a total of 107 occupational accidents, which occurred in the construction sector in 39 cities and were published in the national media were analyzed. The sample of the occupational accidents was divided into different groups according to the types of construction, the reasons for occurrence, the occurrence times during the day, and the occurrence month. It is determined that the accidents in superstructure projects have resulted in more serious consequences than the infrastructure projects. Besides, a survey study consisting of 14 questions has been implemented on a total of 50 employees, which are actively working in the construction sites of six different companies operating in the province of Malatya. It is then determined that the significance given to the concept of occupational health and safety in the construction sites can be associated with the company size rather than the education level of the employees
