Observing of a Regional Fishing Line Used in Bluefish Fishing at Yumurtalik Bight (？skenderun Gulf): Advantages, Disadvantages and Threats

This study was conducted between November 2016 and December 2017. Within the scope of the study, a regional fishing method used in bluefish fishing in Yumurtal？k Bay was investigated. For this purpose; the technical specifications of the fishing gear were determined by making face to face interviews with the fishermen. Later, by participating in fishing operations by fishermen; observations were made on operation details, baits used and the target and non-target species. Based on these observations, the advantages and disadvantages of the method in economic and ecological sense and possible threats were evaluated. It also assessed how well the information obtained from the face-to-face interviews matches the information obtained from the surveys
