Determination of amino acid content of picarel; the LC-MS / MS (Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry) devices was used and the results obtained from this method were reported for the first time for picarel. A total of 19 amino acids were identified as essential (EAA) and non-essential amino acids (NEAA). The EAAs composed for 52.44% of the total values of amino acids. The highest amounts of EAA detected in the meat of picarel were lysine (2.10 ± 0.215 g / 100 g), leucine (1.68 ± 0.115 g / 100 g), arginine (1.18 ± 0.030 g and valine (1.09 ± 0.070 g / 100 g), respectively. The highest amounts of NEAA in the meat of picarel were determined as glutamic acid (2.88 ± 0.010 g / 100 g), aspartic acid (2.16 ± 0.280 g / 100 g), alanine (1.32 ± 0.000 g / 100 g ) and glycine (1.05 ± 0.060 g / 100 g), respectively. The weight – length relationship (WLR) of the fish was calculated as W = 0.0044TL3.3423, R2 = 0.990, N = 45, P < 0.05. The correlation coefficient (r) of the WLR equation was statistically different from zero (P < 0.05) and also b value was statistically different from b = 3 (isometric growth) (Pauly t test P < 0.05). These results show that the picarel caught in the Black Sea have rich AA contents and show positive allometric growth
