The Relationship Between Reason-Religious Text in Thought of al-Mutakallim？n: The Case of al-Ghazali

The Relationship between reason and religious text has engaged the agenda of the philosophers, mutakall？m？n and fukaha for a long time. As a source of judgment, the place of reason in understanding of religious texts and in contradiction of religious texts discussed by Fukaha. In addition, this relationship has shown itself in discussion Ra'ihadith and religious text-q？yas. Each school has identified the relationship between reason and religious text within the framework of its functions. al-Ghazali, who considered logic as a criterion for all sciences and criticized their methods by finding the inadequacies of theologians, considered it necessary to benefit from the Aristotle logic, is one of the theologians. al-Ghazali deals with the sciences of theology and us？l in the framework of the logic makes the important his thought of the relationship between reason and religious text. On the other hand, the understanding of al-Ghazali, which claimed to hampered the development of philosophy, and make the reason dysfunctional, makes this work more valuable. As alleged in the study, al-Gazzali did not make the reason dysfunctional; It was concluded that he wanted to establish a balance between the reason and the religious text as his predecessors such as Shafi and Ash'ari have done. This study is about Gazzali's understanding of the relationship between reason and religious text and the channels that feed his understanding on this issue
