Investigation of Sports Elements in Cartoons: Niloya and Kuzucuk Samples

Individuals need to act to maintain a healthy life. Especially in today's information age, technological tools expose individuals to an inactive life. The importance of movement, which is the most basic need of man, should be given to children at younger ages. The cartoons that play an important role in the holistic development of children have an important role in gaining this habit. In this study, it was aimed to examine the Niloya and Kuzucuk cartoon films published on TRT Child Channel in terms of sport elements. For this purpose, the sections related to sports were subjected to content analysis. In the analysis of data, both visual and verbal elements were taken into consideration. At the end of the study, it was determined that both cartoons contain sports-related materials, concepts and terms related to sports, sports-specific materials. In addition, sports competitions emphasized the emphasis on sportsmanship. Since preschool period is important in terms of gaining many skills, it is thought that it is important to include skills and gains related to sport more often in cartoons
