The Attitudes of Local People Regarding Their Tourism Perception and Tourism Development: A Study in RizeKeywords: Yerel Halk,Turizm Alg?s?,Turizm Geli?imi,Rize Abstract: It was aimed in this study to determine the perceptions of the local people living in Rize that emerges depending on the positive and negative effects of tourism and to identify the impact on support for tourism development. The convenience sampling method was used in the research and the data were obtained by taking the opinions of the local residents who were living Rize with the survey technique. Wrong and missing questionnaires were removed and then a number of 480 surveys were subjected to analyses. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 22 package program. According to the results, it was determined that there are significant differences between the demographic characteristics of the locals in terms of gender, marital status, age groups, educational status and monthly income, and the positive-negative effects of tourism and the support provided for the development of tourism. It was found that there is a positive and significant relationship between socio-cultural positive and economic positive effects of tourism and the support given to tourism development. It was also detected that there is a moderate positive and significant relationship between the environmental positive effects of tourism and the support given to tourism development. Lastly, it was concluded that the variable that affects the support given to the development of tourism most is the economic positive effects
