Gender Relations in The Circassian Culture (Ontological Aspect)

The article presents the author's interpretation of the ontological aspect of gender relations underlying the traditional Circassian culture. The author appeals to the concept of Hegel, which actualizes the national as a way of liberation, presented in the widest range – from the national liberation struggle to the individual intentions, contributing to the achievement of existential freedom. According to the concept of the representative of the German classical philosophy, freedom is acquired through education and disciplining knowledge. Circassian etiquette – Adyghe habze, which is based on free will, should be considered as a disciplinary matrix. This principle is key to the gender relations of the Adygs. The author uses the linguistic-etymological method of decoding certain provisions and concepts, basic for traditional gender relations.
