RADIO LISTENING TENDENCIES OF UNIVERSITY YOUTH: A RESEARCH ON THE STUDENTS OF KARADEN？Z TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

Although the visual media seems to have lost its significance in the age-old conditions, it actually has the ability to access places where radio, internet, television and even journalists can hardly reach. As the potential for mass media to adapt to technological changes such as mobile phone applications is increasing, the independent effect of space on everyday life is more directly related to the mass of listeners, so the mass of listeners of the radios is increasing day by day. The purpose of this work is to investigate the disposition of listening radio of the youngters who live in Trabzon. Nowadays, in order to investigate the reason of preference of the radio among the young people, the aim has been adhered to the pre-established question form and the sampling universe has been applied on the student of the Karadeniz Technical University. The study shows that the radio is a common communication tool among young people, It especially shows that local radios need to increase their listening levels more than the national radios.This study is an original study which shows the tendency of college youth to listen to current radio in Trabzon. The research found that there was a change in radio listening devices with technological improvements and that the biggest problem faced by radio listeners was frequent advertisements on radio channels. In addition, it is found out that young people, listening to the radio, prefering the radio to listen to music and have fun
