An Important Magazine in the Historical Development of Sports Press: Terbiye ve Oyun

Sports news in our country began to find a place in newspapers and magazines in the 19th century. In parallel with the increase of readership in over time, independent sports newspapers and magazines began to be published. The first attempt in this regard is the Futbol Magazine. Terbiye ve Oyun Magazine is the second publication published in the field of sports in our country. Terbiye ve Oyun Magazine, which was published by Selim S？rr？ Tarcan, one of the important names of Turkish sports press, was first published on 14 August 1911. After about a year of publication, the magazine closed down from financial difficulties and the second publication period started again after a decade. The second publication period of the magazine, which raises awareness on physical education in our country, has not been long-termed.
