New Books

This issue of sinecine introduces three new books that deal with basic issues in cinema. The essays collected in Global Art Cinema: New Theories and Histories (2018), edited by Rosalind Galt and Karl Schoonover, start with the premise of hybrid identity in art cinema. They use this identity in explorations of central questions in current film research. Thus they contribute to current debates of film theory and to the controversy concerning historicity of character.
