Determination of Concrete Compressive Strength and Reinforcement Situations in Construction Elements in Agricultural Constructions

Abstract:

The purpose of the study was to determine existing strength of structures elements of crop and animal production structures located in Akdeniz University. Lysimeters in vegetable production structures, basement, floor and reinforced concrete curtain wall in animal production structures were selected for examination. For this purpose, readings were done in structural elements using concrete test hammer. Readings obtained were evaluated according to Article 9 of TS-EN 13791 Standard and concrete classes were determined for each elements. Then, longitudinal and transverse reinforcement diameter and number, thickness of concrete cover used in these structural elements were determined by using reinforcement scanning device. As a result, it was determined that whether the structural elements used in agricultural structures provide the concrete class condition applicable to the regulation or not. According to results obtained by using concrete test hammer, the lowest concrete class was found on lysimeters as C12, the highest concrete class was found in reinforced concrete curtain wall of silage feed storage of dairy cattle barn as C30. According to results obtained by using reinforcement scanning device, reinforcement diameters were found between ?8 mm and ?24 (?16 mm ± 8 mm) and concrete covers were found between 14 mm and 69 m
