FILM TOURISM: THE INFLUENCE OF FILM AND TV SERIES ON THE TOURISM ACTIVITIES IN NEV？EH？R

Film and television series, significant components of popular culture in everyday life, attracts a great deal of people in a very short period of time. Therefore, the settings of such filmic productions oftentimes become a center of attraction. Nowadays, touristic activities have greatly increased and diversified within the contexts of globalization and locality. In general this paper focuses on the relationship between film and tv series tourism and place identity, and the production of space in the term of film tourism. In this respect, the key aim of this paper is to indicate the ways in which films and series produced in Nev？ehir have an impact as to the choice of the domestic tourists. The sample area of this study is the city of Nev？ehir, which bears a resemblance to a film plateau due to natural and mysterious landscape. Both quantitative and qualitative methods will be employed in order to acquire information. Thus, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews are employed. Besides, it is important to stress that people watching these products have a high desire to visit the settings of the filmic productions, so it is one of the sources of motivation to improve tourism activities
