Analyzing Black Mirror Series 1st Episode "The National Anthem", In The Context Of Agenda Setting Theory

With the effects of political powers on society, it has become common to use information tools in the agenda setting and influencing the public. Many political forces, especially media circles and social media, have tried both to influence masses and to make their ideas applicable to society. In this context, use of media tools has also been explicitly addressed in various series and films. The British-made Black Mirror series also touched on this topic, especially in the 1st section of the National Anthem. In the scope of the study, the effects of the agenda setting theory and the effects of the agenda setting method on the masses were examined by using the Content Analysis Method and publishing the requests requested from the British Prime Minister through social media and television channels. As a result of the study, it was concluded that social media and television were very effective in determining the agenda, and that both communes had their own unique changes
