Problems of the Students at a Transported and Boarding School and Psychological Counseling Services

Aim of this research is to examine problems of the students at a transported and boarding school and provided school psychological counseling services. In this study, the data obtained from 328 records in psychological counseling sessions were analyzed. In addition, case examples of 18 most frequently students were examined. This study is a qualitative research and the documents analysis technique was used. The findings of the research were collected in 5 themes and 11 categories were created. The students’ counseling subjects are usually behavior problems and emotional problems. Fighting, swearing and arguing, lie, harming school property and bullying are among the most common problems. Academic success and test anxiety are related to educational guidance. The problems of the students are usually related to friendship. The counseling subjects at the beginning of the academic year were mostly related to students' problems with school and dorm adaptation. Results of the findings were discussed and some suggestions were made for further research
