SENTENCE TYPES IN PROVERBSKeywords: Atas?zü,cümle türleri,cümle yap?s?,yüklem ?e?itleri,yüklemin yeri,cümlenin anlam? Abstract: Almost every society has thought-provoking words that are said to be quick at repartee to events. In Turkey Turkish, the use of these sayings called proverbs, is inevitable in some cases. When these words are used on the spot, they add fluency to talk and the direction of speaking is directional. These anonymous language products sincerely express the society's view of the world, its cultures, its understanding, its rules of life, its thoughts. As proverbs fulfill these functions, they use all the possibilities of the language. Proverbs are concrete examples of the experience of a nation for many centuries and reflected in the language of its cultural history. Proverbs circulating in the language as oral literary products have undergone various changes over time and have taken their present state. Proverbs have a great proposition in that they show the characteristics of the word exchange, spoken characteristics and sentence structure of the Turkish language over time. The common characteristics of proverbs that become powerful tools of expression when they are used on time and on the spot are being anonymous, relying on observations and experiences, reflecting the characteristics of the society they are emerging from, having a general expression and being stereotyped. Impressive expressions make it necessary to examine proverbs in terms of sentence types. In this study, proverbs have been examined in five headings: according to sentence types, according to structures, according to types of predicates, place of predicate, according to the meaning of sentence and sentence bindings. It has been observed in the examination that the proverbs were very rich in sentence types. In this examination, it is seen that the proverbs contain very rich examples in terms of sentence types. It has also been found that for teaching groups at all levels, proverbs can be used as a rich source in the teaching of sentence types
