SERGEI RACHMANINOFF’S MUSICAL IDENTITY AND ANALYS OF HIS OP.3 NO.2 PRELUDE

Sergei Rachmaninoff is one of the most important composers and pianists of the 20th Century. His Works caused great admiration both in terms of harmonic, tonal and rhythmic difficulties and in technical terms because of the identity of the composer as a pianist. In this study, firstly, the life of Sergei Rachmaninoff was dealt with, and then, the prelude form was explained. Following the musical identity of the composer, the Op.3 No.2 c sharp minor prelude was examined in technical and thematic terms to contribute to its execution and to provide a source in this respect by considering the musical concept and the inspirations of the composer
