In V？ew of Women: Why Women Do Not Part？c？pate in The Workforce

There are many factors that cause women to stay out of the labor force. Marital status, education, age, the presence of family members in need of care, lack of legal regulations to ensure the gender equality of men and women, migration from urban to rural areas, religions and life style are the main reasons among them. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the reasons why women cannot participate in labor force in terms of women's views. The samples of the study composed of total 389 women who living in Trabzon. The data of the study were collected by the questionnaire form developed by the researchers. Findings displayed that one fourth of the participates were working. The mean score of the 19-item survey tool developed to determine women’s view about the reasons for women's inability to participate in the labor force average score is 40.3 (S=17.6), and the scores vary between 15 and 95. It was concluded that the relationship between the views of women on the reasons why women cannot participate in labor force and the age, marital status and child ownership is statistically significant. As a result of the simple linear regression analysis performed, it was determined that of gender perception was an important predictor on the reasons why women cannot participate in lanor force
