Analysing of Sultan Abdülaziz’s Opinions About Western Art Music Through His Composition “Invitation to the Waltz

The purpose of this research is to analyse the reasons, how Sultan Abdulaziz -who was the first monarch who composed some piano pieces in western forms, among the composer Sultans of Ottoman Empire- could compose his piano pieces which are very close to it’s Western models of entertainment music in terms of quality, even though his negative attitude to western arts and he proved this attitude by his administration practices. Besides in this research, it will be examined the reasons of Sultan Abdulaziz’s changing attitude towards western arts in positive manner, it will be researched more detailed that Sultan Abdulaziz’s artist personality on the basis of previous studies about this topic
