LIFE DEDICATED TO SCIENCE A STUDY ON FERIDUN NAFIZ UZLUK AND HIS ARCHIVE

Feridun Nafiz Uzluk, who was a medical doctor in fact and interested in art, was one of the most important researchers of Mawlana in the 20th century. As to him, he descended of Maulawi through the maternal line. The main reason why Uzluk studied on Mawlawiyah was that he had descended of Maulawi and the education he had got in his youth in the Mawlawiyah circles. It is irrefutable that Uzluk’s studies in this field guide the researchers who study on Mawlawiyah. Uzluk who was a good archivist, kept all the documents he got and let them to be handed down the next generations. It is undoubted fact that a part of his archive which was donated to Selcuk University after his death, guides lots of researchers currently. This study has been prepared in order both to make an entry in history about Feridun Nafiz Uzluk’s library which was donated to Seljuk Researches Centre, and to make a small contribution for the introduction of someone who did important things as an archivist and author in various fields
