Corporate Performance Management in Public Hospitals: Evaluation of Public Hospital Managers’ Perceptions of Efficiency Card ApplicationKeywords: Kamu Hastaneleri,Hastane Y?neticileri,Performans,Verimlilik Abstract: Aim: The aim here is to determine how the efficiency card application implemented to corporate performance in public hospitals is perceived by hospital managers in terms of the strategic management and dimensions of performance. Method: The study was conducted with 226 managers working in public hospitals in Ankara. The survey method was used as the data collection tool. The study evaluates the hospital managers' perceptions of strategic management of the efficiency card and the efficiency card application. The data obtained from the study were evaluated using percentage distributions, exploratory factor analysis, Mann Whitney-U test, Kruskal Wallis test and correlation analysis. Results: In the study, the strategic management perception of the managers who received the training on the efficiency card application was found to be significantly different compared to the managers who did not. A significant relationship was observed between gender and patient satisfaction as well as between the status of obtaining the training on efficiency card application and quality of service. 81.9’u % of the hospital managers stated that the efficiency card provided effective management of public hospitals, 72.6% of them suggested that it played an important role in increasing the corporate performance of the hospitals. 78.8% of managers think that the efficiency card improves the performance of managers. In the correlation analyses, a moderate relationship was observed between the managers' perception of strategic management and the efficiency card application. Conclusion: The mean score of the public hospital managers’ perceptions of strategic management and the efficiency card application was found to be high. The public hospital managers perceive the efficiency card as a strategic management tool. The efficient use of the efficiency card by providing hospital participation by the managers of the hospital will increase the institutional performance of hospitals and facilitate the achievement of the institutional goals
