Science Teacher Candidates’ Expression Levels on the Expansion of Water Subject by Prediction- Observation- Explanation MethodKeywords: Tahmin-G?zlem-A??klama Y?ntemi,Suyun Genle?mesi,??retmen Aday? Abstract: The aim of this research is to reveal that science teacher candidates’ expression levels on the expansion of water subject by prediction- observation- explanation method. Descriptive research method was used to obtain data in this research. Activity form which was developed according to prediction-observation-explanation method was used as a data collection tool. The data were categorized and analyzed as sentences containing scientific information, sentences containing unscientific and superficial information, sentences containing conceptual misconceptions. As a result of the study, firstly the sentences made by the science teacher candidates in the prediction step were examined together with their reasons. In this step, it has been determined that very few of the candidate teachers made the sentences containing the scientific information, and the vast majority made the sentences containing the superficial information and the concept misconception. The video and short films related to the subject were shown to the teacher candidates during the observation step. After this stage, the candidates' sentiments in the explanation step were examined. It has been seen that more teacher candidates set up statements containing scientific information on the subject at the stage of explanation. At the same time, compared with the prediction step, there was a decrease in the number of teacher candidates who made the sentences containing superficial information and conceptual misconceptions
