A BIBLIOMETRIC RESEARCH ON NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL JOURNALS ON ACCOUNTING EDUCATION

The importance given to accounting education is increasing gradually in consequence of recent developments according to academicians and implementers. In this context, this study aims to evaluate the general profile of studies published in national and international journals. Within this scope, 79 articles on accounting education have been examined which were published by 2017 in the journals with the most articles such as Journal of Accounting Education, Accounting Education, Advances in Accounting Education, Global Perspectives on Accounting Education, Issues in Accounting Education and The Accounting Educator’s Journal with Muhasebe and Finansman (MUFAD), Muhasebe Bilim Dünyas？ (M？DAV), Mali ？？züm and Muhasebe & Denetime Bak？？. The articles in the journals are categorized within the framework of empirical and case studies. In addition, empirical articles have been evaluated also by the methods of sampling, data source and analysis. According to the results of the study, it is seen that the majority of the articles published in the accounting education are included in journals abroad, include empirical studies, are directed to the students as a sample, the questionnaire method is used as the primary data source and regression analysis is used as the analysis method
