Today, however, the number of plateaus in which these activities are carried out is gradually diminishing. For Kumluca and Beykonak people, while livestock was among the most important socio-cultural and economic activities in the past, it has lost its importance in the region today. Almost all the yoruk groups, including the Akkoyunlu yoruks, chose the settled life. When the relevant literature is reviewed, it is seen that there is enough comprehensive scientific study on transhumance activities. Previous studies on the subject were generally on plateau, plateau and plateau culture within the scope of transhumance activities, whereas the studies of the winter life of the yoruks are seen extremely limited in the field. In this study, the lives of the Akkoyunlu Yoruks in Beykonak barracks were chosen as a research topic, and it was aimed to eliminate this deficiency. Face to face interviews were made with Akkoyunlu Yoruks living in Beykonak barracks and the obtained data were analyzed and interpreted. Akkoyunlu Yoruks recently abandoned traditional plateau activities and settled in Beykonak neighborhood. Although Akkoyunlu Yoruks abandoned their past habits as economically, they still continue their culture by maintaining their traditions and customs. These yoruk groups want to continue their culture in the traditions of; asking parents’ permission for marriage, wedding, circumcision, military service and death ceremonies. Akkoyunlu Yoruks often have expressed that they are in an effort to live by traditions and keep them alive
