Abstract Skin and soft tissue infections are among the most common infections for family practitioners in their career. Impetigo, folliculitis, furuncles, carbuncles and cellulitis comprise most of the skin and soft tissue infections, caused by gram positive staphylococcus and streptococcus microorganisms from the skin. Treatment is provided withtopical/systemic antibiotics according to clinical case. Family practitioners have an important mission to identify these cases during the first application to a health institution and plan the treatment accurately and efficiently for the prevention of possible complications and unnecessary hospitalizations. This review is prepared to contribute to primary health care practice of most common clinical forms of skin and soft tissue infec-tion
