20th Century Contemporary Iranian Poet Fereydoon Moshiri

Abstract:

Fereydoon Moshiri (Fereyd?n-i Mu??r? in Turkish, 1305–1379 AH/1926–2000) was one of the pioneering poets of the 20th century Contemporary Iranian Literature. After learning literacy, Fereydoon Moshiri, who grew up in a family communing with literature, began to read the works of poets such as Hafez (Haf?z-i ??raz? in Turkish), Saadi Shirazi (Sa’d?-yi ??raz? in Turkish), Ferdowsi (Firdevs? in Turkish) and Nizami Ganjavi (Nizam?-yi Gencev?). The poet, who began writing poems in his high school years, wrote his Gazel and his Mesnevi beginning with his first years of the university. Fereydoon Moshiri was a poet who had chosen to stay close to tradition in the transition between the poetry of Nima style, also called the new poetry, and the ?i’r-i Sep?d (free style poetry). Fereydoon Moshiri, who published twenty-one poetry magazines and two compilation books during his literary life for nearly sixty-four years, has become famous with the most famous poem called “Kooche” (Street). This poem also has the characteristic of being a work that has a connotation with the name of the poet.In this article, the course of the Iranian literature after the constitutionalism, the emergence of the new poetry, and the new poetry patterns were briefly mentioned first, and then information was given about the life and literary personality of Fereydoon Moshiri. In our study, we aimed to navigate a little bit in the realm of emotions and thoughts of Fereydoon Moshiri and to recognize and introduce his personality in this way
