Some Considerations on Legal Practices in Anatolia in Old Assyrian Colony PeriodKeywords: Teamül Hukuku,kīma awāt naru’āim,Koloni ?a?? Hukuku Abstract: In the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period, no legal documents, such as laws or regulations pertaining to local authorities or Assyrians, were found. However, based on some statements in the tablets, it is possible to mention the existence of a text of laws. The problems of the Assyrian merchants who came to trade in Anatolia were solved in the courts of kārums. The legal problems between Anatolian natives and Assyrians were usually settled by local authorities. This study examines treaty texts and tablets including some legal practices and penalties, which dated levels II and Ib. In this way, it will be informed about the differences of the legal procedures and swearing genres between Assyrians and natives. Thus, some evaluations and determinations will be made about the various legal practices in Anatolia during the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period
