Ottoman Diplomacy in the Age of the Establishment and Its Features (1299-1451)

The history of the Ottoman State has been taken up in many aspects and qualified works have been put forward. The Ottoman history of diplomacy and the studies related to its international counterparts have mostly focused on the period of time after the conquest of Istanbul. In this context, in order to fill a gap, we considered it appropriate to examine the Ottoman diplomacy in the age of the establisment. The aim and methods of Ottoman diplomacy will be examined during the period from Osman Bey to Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror. The method we use will proceed chronologically through a sample of diplomacy rather than treating each sultan separately. In the method we use, each sultan will not be handled chronologically. Much more diplomacy will advance through the sample. This framework will deal with the diplomatic relations between the Anatolian principals, the Muslim or non-Muslim states with the Ottomans. Envoys, gifts, political marriages, treaties, wars, threats, letters are concrete arguments to be exemplified in this frame. Through this work, we will understand the logic of the Ottoman Empire, the fore？gn political structure of the pre-empire period, through diplomatic relations. As a result, we will also determine whether the expression "ad hoc diplomacie" or diplomacy of the “beylik” is correct in the name of the establishment age of the Ottomans
