Cultural Diversity and Philosophical Criticism

From the beginning, philosophy has been a research area questioning not only the possibilities and richness of human existence but also the impossibilities of a life stage in which human existence get involved and deprived situation of this stage by examining in the name of a better world. However, under the titles of globalization as a basic phenomenon of nowadays, global culture and correlatively a discourse of cultural diversity, it is possible to determine that the function of a criticism of age, highly important aspect of philosophy, has begun to disappear in modern world where we have unwillingly become both subject and object of it. In this study, we deal with the topic of cultural diversity that is introduced as a narrative discrepancy and understood as one meaning as a result of the global process by analysing the concept of culture. In this manner, aim of the study is to commit to reconsider the ancient function of philosophy by trying to articulate a Platonic theme to the present problems
