EXAMINATION OF THE REPUBLICAN PERIOD PHYSICS TEACHING PROGRAMS IN TERMS OF WEEKLY COURSE HOURS

Education programs are modified or replaced in the light of scientific and technological developments. This replacement affects the course hours as well as the weekly lesson hours for the subjects. This study aims to compare the Republican period physics teaching programs that has been applied in Turkey in terms of weekly course hours. In addition, all physics courses used in the Republic period curriculum were briefly explained. As a result of the comparisons made with the analysis of documents from the qualitative analysis methods, it was seen that the weekly course hours in the physics courses at the secondary school level decreased from the past to the present, and there was no significant change in these hours at the high school level. In addition, almost in every curriculum, physics weekly course hours were changed, even in some grades, there were no physics courses. It was seen that this understanding was abandoned over time
