Abstract:

Concern about examination has negative effects on learners such as creating prejudices about an area, inhibition of learning situation and the formation of learned helplessness. The aim of this study determining the causes of the examination anxieties for the Human Anatomy and Physiology topics of the teacher candidates who are studying in the preschool teacher bachelor program and revealing the test anxiety reducing factors. The study group consist of 50 students who are studying in the first class of a foundation university and a state university in the Fall semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. The research is designed as a case study. The students were asked their opinions about the examination and examination of Human Anatomy and Physiology before and after the visa exam. The focus group discussion was made with ten students selected from the students who received their opinions, and student views were diversified. Content analysis was performed on the obtained data. According to research findings; negative prejudices towards the course, lack of knowledge about exam contents, first test, fear of failing the exam and being a course in the ?ABT exam have been determined as the reasons for exam anxiety. In the research, it has been determined that the relevance of the course content to the current life, the use of different teaching methods and techniques, giving preliminary information about the exam, teacher-student interaction and lesson focusing are effective factors in decreasing test anxiety
