Typographic Elements in Architecture and Effect on Urban Aesthetics

Typography, which can be defined as the use of transforming the writing into a design element, has also led to the presence of visual communication in all areas of life. Considering the relationship between architecture and typography in terms of a visual communication designer, two more basic points can be mentioned. The first one is the use of typography / typographic elements as a design element in architecture or as a form that shapes the architectural structure, and the other is the use of typography as a functional and aesthetic element in the architectural structure and its surroundings. There are architectural structures in which the typographic elements are referenced for the cooperation or relationship of typography and architecture. These structures are the examples that transform the literature into a different language of expression and which make the place of interest an effect on the city's aesthetics. Another example of typography and architectural cooperation is the way in which typography is used as a digital surface. In this study, the place of typography in architecture and urban aesthetics is considered as a review of the literature within the scope of the scanning model. The aim of the study is to draw attention to the use of typographic applications in the field of architecture and its place and importance in urban aesthetics.
