MOTIVATION SCALE FOR SPORTS PARTICIPATION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES (MSSPPD): A STUDY OF VALIDITY AND RELIABILITYKeywords: Engelli bireyler, spor, motivasyon, kat?l?m motivasyonu Abstract: In this study, it was aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement instrument that could measure motivation sources for sports participation of physically handicapped, hearing-impaired, and visually impaired individuals. Consisting of 303 participants from various branches, this study was designed in a mixed method model. In order to provide evidence for the validity of the scale, an exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were applied within the scope of construct validity. The results of the EFA revealed that the measurement instrument consists of 3 dimensions which were intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and non-motivated, and 22 items. Fit indices that are formed as a result of DFA showed that the current state of the measurement instrument is compatible with the collected data. Within the scope of item analysis, 27 % lower and upper group evaluations were tested by examining item total test correlation. At the end of item analyses, no item was left out of the scale. In accordance with the reliability of the measurement instrument, Cronbach Alpha coefficient was found to be high. In this sense, Motivation Scale for Sports Participation of People with Disabilities (MSSPPD) may be claimed to be a reliable and valid data collection tool that can measure motivation sources for sports participation of physically disabilities, hearing-impaired, and visually impaired individuals who are affected by disabilities at different level
