Investigation of The Effect of Personality on The University Students’ Educational Software Interface Color Design Choices

In this research, educational software interface color preferences of the university students and the differentiation of these preferences according to the students’ personality characteristics were examined. In this study, descriptive research method was used. 545 students who are studying in education faculties of 3 different universities have been researched. The interface design selection software developed by the researchers and the “Adjective Based Personality Scale were used in the data collection process. The participants preferred light colors as light blue, light pink, pink and white for the background color. Participants preferred neutral colors as black, blue and navy blue for the text color. In the question of the differentiation status based on the personality traits of the participants' educational software interface color choices; in extraverted /inward and emotional balance/imbalance personality traits, software interface background color selections found to be differentiated. According to the other personality traits, it was found that the interface design color choices did not show a significant difference
