Of Agricultural Provided to the Financial Incentives Agricultural Development Influence on: In Turkey

Agriculture sector is one of the main production sectors. Furthermore, the sector is a strategic sector from the healthfully nourishment of the country’s population. In this context, the countries support the sector with various agricultural policies considering its strategic importance. The fiscal incentives by governments are also one of the important components behind the agricultural policies. This study examines the impact of financial incentives provided to agricultural sector on agricultural sector development in Turkey during 1980-2016 period using the cointegration test based on ARDL approach and Toda and Yamamoto (1995) causality test. We found that that the financial incentives provided in the agricultural sector did not have a significant effect on the agricultural sector development in the long run. However, it was determined that economic growth positively affected the agricultural sector development
