Can chance games be one of the participation motivations to tourism?Keywords: ?ans Oyunlar?,Motivasyon,Turizm Abstract: Chance games draw attention as a social phenomenon in that modern man reflects the paradoxical behavior between rationality and irrationality and, individual, social and economic causes/ consequences. However, especially in the national social sciences literature, it is seen that this kind of situation is neglected and ignored in terms of various differences such as geographical region, social class, gender or educational status as well as social values, leisure time, consumption habits and tourism. The aim of this study is to come up for discussion whether chance games have an effect on the motivation for participating in tourism. In this context, the historical background of chance games as a social phenomenon, its place in the motivation of participation in tourism is examined. The study was constructed on the phenomenological research design and review of the literature was used as a method. As a result of the study, a conceptual model proposal is suggested
