Abstract:

In this study, the mediating role of job engagement attitudes of employees is examined on the interaction between leaders’ charismatic behaviors and job performance. Mediation analyzes with traditional and modern approaches were conducted to the data obtained from 356 participants working in the public and private sectors. Results of both used mediation analyzes showed that job engagement has a partial mediating role in the relationship of leaders’ charismatic behaviors and employees’ job performance. In the light of these findings it is evaluated that leaders’ charismatic behaviors are important to improve employees’ job performance. Along this line job performance can be partially increased by positively devoloping job engagement attitudes of employees through leaders’ charismatic behaviors
