Investigation of toxic behavior in tourism business: Antalya area research

It is a sector where there is intense competition in tourism and many employees try to do business in difficult conditions. The aim of this research is to determine the toxic behaviors exhibited in tourism enterprises. In this context, it was aimed to determine the toxic behaviors perceived by tourism businessmen in Antalya province according to various identity variables. The "Toxic Behavior Scale" developed by Kusy and Holloway (2009) and adapted to Turkish by the researchers was collected in the study. This scale, which is intended for the determination of toxic behavior of employees, is thought to make an important contribution to national field literature due to its specificity. In addition, the results of the study are considered important for future studies aimed at preventing toxic behavior in tourism enterprises. At the end of the research, it is suggested that people perceive different toxic behaviors according to different demographic characteristics in tourism enterprises and suggestions for eliminating toxic behaviors are presented
