Down’s Syndrome in Syria 2022

Abstract:

The study was conducted on people with Down’s syndrome in Damascus, through a questionnaire distributed to the families of those infected and affiliated with associations. The results showed that females are more infected than males, with 62% females, while males are 38, 33% people with Down’s syndrome were found to be aged 10 and under, 24% ranging from 11 - 21 years old, 43% aged 22 - 30 years old and no older than 30 years old. The psychological and moral consequences of Down’s syndrome were such that 24% were trying to keep the patient out of sight and 62% were not trying to hide them and how to treat Down’s syndrome sufferers and their needs in order to make them disadvantaged.
