Abstract:

In recent years, epilepsy co-morbidities are gradually attracting attention, in which the prevalence of epilepsy co-morbid depression and anxiety is higher than that of other psychiatric disorders, and co-morbid depression and anxiety in epileptic patients will significantly increase the burden of dis-ease and reduce the quality of life. Current research has revealed that there may be some bidirec-tional relationships and common pathophysiological mechanisms between epilepsy and depression and anxiety. This article will review this issue.
