Abstract:

丑作为与美相对立的范畴,是文学创作中不可或缺的审美对象,中国古代诗歌中存在着大量“以丑为美”的作品。而贞元时期作为由大历向元和过渡的一个重要阶段,诗坛上出现了明显的审丑现象,其中顾况、孟郊的诗歌中最为突出,他们以丑俗陋劣之物入诗,求新求奇,有着自觉的“以丑为美”意识和强烈的艺术个性,为元和新变的繁荣奏响先声。可以说,这一时期诗人的审美趣味初露奇诞变异的端倪,在诗歌艺术上具有独到建树和诗史意义。
Ugliness, as a category opposite to beauty, is an indispensable aesthetic object in literary creation. There are a large number of works that “use ugliness as beauty” in ancient Chinese poetry. In the Zhenyuan period, an important stage of the transition from Dali to Yuanhe, obvious ugly appreciating phenomena appeared in the poetry world. Among them, Gu Kuang and Meng Jiao’s poems were the most prominent. Seeking novelty, with a conscious awareness of “using ugliness as beauty” and a strong artistic personality, is the prelude to the prosperity of Yuanhe. It can be said that the aesthetic taste of the poets in this period showed clues of bizarre variation, which has unique achievements and historical significance in poetry art.
