Abstract:

Su Shi’s (Su Dongpo) life was full of ups and downs in the officialdom, leaving behind thousands of poems. Among them, food, as Su Shi’s major hobby, has become an important theme in his works, forming a unique culinary cultural landscape. And Su Shi is not only an old glutton, but also has his own unique cooking techniques. There are more than a hundred types of delicacies named after “Dongpo”, and the anecdotes of Su Shi cooking are widely circulated among the people. This article will explore Su Shi’s dietary writing and examine the Dongpo dishes created by him in different periods, in order to study Su Shi’s unique dietary thinking of adapting to local conditions.
