Restos humanos en el norte de Tierra del Fuego: Aspectos contextuales, dietarios y paleopatológicos

archaeological excavations, most of them rescues, carried out between 2000 and 2007 at eight pre-hispanic sites along the atlantic coast of tierra del fuego produced 11 human skeletons from burials of different types. this paper discusses burial type, distribution and post-depositional processes, as well as the paleopathologic, chronological and isotopic skeletal analyses that reveal dietary patterns. on a regional scale, these new bioanthropological data add to knowledge of an area of tierra del fuego that is in desperate need of further research. on a supra-regional scale, the results support previous interpretations of the biocultural diversity found in the human groups that inhabited southern patagonia during the holocene.
